Why Us

Why Columbus Picks Jarrod's for Scorpion Control

Free Inspection Inside and Out

A licensed technician checks your foundation, crawl space, garage and the spots where pipes enter the house. The inspection and estimate are free, and you get the price before any work starts.

Family and Pet-Safe Products

We treat the outside of your home and the places scorpions get in with family and pet-safe products. Our technicians are licensed in Georgia and Alabama.

Quarterly Plans With Free Call-Backs

Most homes do best with quarterly service. If scorpions come back between scheduled visits, so do we, at no extra charge. Every treatment comes with our 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Shake Out Your Shoes

Scorpions hunt at night and hide in dark spots during the day. Shake out shoes, gloves and towels left on the floor before you use them. Use a dustpan, not your hand, to pick up a scorpion, even one that looks dead.

James notifies me the day before he is coming. I appreciate this courtesy, because it gives me a heads up before I am notified by the cameras that someone is in my yard. He sprays all of the designated areas each time he comes. It must be working, because I have not had any bugs inside of the house.

Robert is our tech at Jarrod’s. He’s always very nice, respectful and knowledgeable. When I see him he always makes sure to ask if we are having any bug issues he needs to address, and if so, he promptly takes care of it. Thankfully out of the 7 years we’ve been using Jarrod’s, we’ve only experienced 2 issues and they were quickly resolved. I highly recommend Jarrod’s as a pest control company as well as our tech, Robert!

Scorpion Control Across Columbus and the Chattahoochee Valley

Two small native scorpions live in our part of Georgia and Alabama: the southern unstriped scorpion and the Hentz striped scorpion. Both are usually 2 inches long or less. They live under logs, rocks, loose bark, pine straw and woodpiles, and cold, rain or drought can push them indoors.

We treat scorpions in Columbus, Phenix City, Auburn, Opelika and LaGrange, and across Middle Georgia in Macon, Warner Robins and Perry. Our trucks leave the office on Kolb Avenue in Columbus every morning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to Your Scorpion Control Questions

Here is what Columbus homeowners ask us most.

Are scorpions in Georgia dangerous?

Our native scorpions are not considered a serious danger to healthy people or pets. A sting hurts about like a wasp sting, and the pain usually fades within 30 minutes. Get medical care right away for trouble breathing or a strong reaction.

Why are scorpions getting into my house?

Cold, heavy rain or drought push scorpions to look for shelter, water and food. They slip in through cracks about 1/8 inch wide, under doors and around pipes. Woodpiles and pine straw against the house give them a place to live close by.

Do scorpions nest inside homes?

No. Scorpions don't build nests or breed in drains. One or two inside usually means one or two got in from outside. That's why we focus on the outside of your home and the entry points.

Are your treatments safe for kids and pets?

Yes. We use family and pet-safe products. Your technician will tell you if kids or pets need to stay out of an area, and for how long.

How much does scorpion control cost?

It depends on the size of your home and how many places scorpions can get in. The inspection and estimate are free, and you get the price before any work starts.
